Social Impact
Education that changes lives, families and futures.
By making industry-integrated education affordable and inclusive, Orchid lifts India's Gross Enrolment Ratio and turns first-generation learners into earners — creating impact that reaches whole families and communities.
Social impact is the reason Orchid University exists. As India's first value-driven, skill-based intergenerational university, we measure success not only by degrees awarded but by lives transformed — by learners who become earners, and families whose futures change because someone could finally access and afford a meaningful education.
Our model is built for inclusion. Affordable fees, open access for learners across India, and the Learn While You Earn approach mean that students — including first-generation and underserved learners — can study without putting their livelihoods on hold. Through the SEEL Framework of Skilling, Education, Employment and Livelihood, education translates directly into income and dignity.
The impact we pursue
- Raising India's Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) by bringing more people into higher education
- Day One employability that turns students into wage-earners early
- Inclusive opportunity for women, youth and learners from remote and rural regions
- Community development through partners such as the Peace of Dream Foundation and the Government of Sikkim
When a single graduate gains a skilled, secure livelihood, the benefit ripples outward — to siblings, parents and entire communities. That intergenerational lift is the heart of Orchid's purpose: an education that does not just open one door, but changes the trajectory of a whole family for good.
