Academic Quality

A continuous quality loop — feedback from Learners, faculty and industry partners feeding back into programme design.

Composition

Academia and industry at one table.

Constituted under the Orchid University Act, the Council is chaired by the Vice-Chancellor and brings together Deans of Schools, senior professors, external academic experts, and industry representatives — reflecting the University's conviction that academic quality and industry relevance are the same conversation.

  • Chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, with the Pro Vice-Chancellors and Deans of all Schools
  • Senior faculty and Boards of Studies chairs representing every discipline
  • External members from academia, research institutions and industry
  • The Registrar as Member-Secretary, with the Controller of Examinations in attendance
NEP 2020 in Practice

A council built for the new framework.

01

Choice-based, multidisciplinary learning

Freedom to choose subjects across Schools — the compact campus makes cross-registration real, not theoretical.

02

Multiple entry & exit

Certificate → Diploma → Degree stacking, so a pause is never a dead end.

03

Academic Bank of Credits

Credits recorded and portable — within Orchid and across India's higher-education system.

04

Blended, work-integrated models

No silos between skills and academics — vocational learning integrated with higher-education pathways.

Learning, Governed

Standards you can see.

Every course the Council approves ends up here — in a lab, a studio or a workplace, assessed on what a Learner can actually do.
