Founders & Leadership

Orchid University was founded by Arjun Mishra, whose conviction that higher education must lead directly to livelihood shaped the university's skill-first, value-driven identity. His vision was simple but ambitious: build an institution where a young person from any background could learn, earn and serve at the same time, and step into the workforce ready from day one.

Alongside him, Co-Founder Vikas Shukla has helped translate that vision into an operating model — forging the partnerships, programmes and the Industry as Campus framework that connect classrooms to real workplaces across India.

Academic leadership

The university's academic life is led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sandeep Sharma, who brings deep scholarship and institutional experience to Orchid's faculty, curriculum and research agenda. Under his leadership the ten schools are building work-integrated degrees that hold education to a standard of Excellence with Relevance.

Together, the founders and leadership share a common commitment: to keep the student first, to act with integrity always, and to treat education as an instrument of nation building. Their combined energy — entrepreneurial, academic and civic — is what allows Orchid to be both rooted in Sikkim and connected to opportunity across the country.
