The University's powers, duties and structures flow from the Orchid University Act No. 06 of 2024, enacted by the Sikkim Legislative Assembly and notified in the Sikkim Government Gazette No. 316. The Act defines the authorities of the University, their composition, and the checks that hold them to account.
